About Medium Rare

Launched in July of 2005, Medium Rare is the brainchild of Tom Keenoy and Sarah Clark. Sarah had recently left her full time gig as Director of On-Air Graphics at ImaginAsianTV, and Tom was running his own successful print and web design studio, Radius Design. Their complementary skills made them the perfect match to expand the variety of services they could offer their clients. Their work under the Medium Rare banner encompasses both commercial projects and personal work: Medium Rare is just about making great stuff.

Sarah Clark

Sarah came to New York 10 years ago with a suitcase and a backpack, and never left. She is well versed in all aspects of broadcast production and specializes in motion graphics design and animation. She also teaches a class in time-based media at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. In addition to her creative talents, Sarah can also breathe fire and speaks fluent Canadian.

Spaz the Dog

Spaz the Dog is a dog. Her skills include sniffing, pulling things apart, sniffing things that have been pulled apart, eating things that she's sniffed, pooing things that she's eaten, sniffing things that she's pooed, sniffing things she's not supposed to, licking, and licking.
Spaz's name spelled backwards is Zaps the God.

Jessica Wolf

Jessica migrated east in 2001 to attend Pratt Institute. She now has her BFA and a bike, which she rides to the studio everyday.

Tom Keenoy

Tom is equally comfortable in the CMYK (print) and RGB (screen) environments. A seasoned web developer with experience in launching all manner of sites from the smallest flat html brochureware sites to massive dynamic web portals and social networking sites, he's also well versed in all aspects of print design and corporate identity development. He's been a professor at his Alma Mater, Pratt Institute, since 2000, where he teaches website design and introductory level graphic design. He can also hang drywall and has been mistaken for numerous celebrities, none of whom he actually looks anything like.
Tom declined to have his named spelled backwards for this bio.

Andy "Hermes" Costell

Hermes is Andy Costell’s nickname, called so for a hodgepodge of reasons, but boiled down it’s because he really likes the archetype of Hermes. And just like many people in Mexico named Jesus he likes being called the same name as his deity.
He is most at home getting down and dirty with databases, cosines, tangents and mulitidimensional arrays. This works out fine mainly because he IS at home doing the aforementioned.
He has one wife, one 2 year old son, one newborn daughter and one dog, all of whom are so cute you want to squish them. His wife, Maureen, was right when she predicted a girl, by the way...
